Researcher Mobility Survey

Dear Researcher,

The European Commission is undertaking a study on European researcher mobility. This survey is designed to gather information about possible factors inhibiting mobility.

Recent studies have reported that a number of structural and practical problems could hamper mobility and may mean that Europe is losing out on valuable research and innovation capacity. The Commission is therefore eager to reduce obstacles and make mobility a more attractive option, to create a more dynamic European Knowledge System. Mobility may offer researchers an opportunity for enhancement of careers, rewards and fulfilment, and is essential for fostering knowledge transfer across Europe.

We hope the results of this survey will help to develop a better understanding of the key factors affecting mobility. It is targeted at a range of researchers and aims to gather information about opinions on mobility, potential and actual barriers, and individual experiences.

Your participation would be much appreciated. It should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete the online form. All responses will be treated with the strictest confidence and data will be used solely for the purposes of this study.

If you know of any colleagues or contacts within your organisation for whom this study might be relevant, please pass-on the link.

Thank you for your valued help.

Yours faithfully,

Emmanuel Boudard
